1909-S V.D.B Lincoln Cents
The 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent is the key date coin of the Lincoln Cent series. 1909 also marks the first year of issue for the new Lincoln Cent design."V.D.B." refers to the designer Vincent D. Brenner's initials that appear on the reverse of the coin. After a public outcry the initials were removed, creating a rare variety. Only 484,000 of the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cents were produced, making the coin a new rarity.
